What else do I need apart from the Kit?
You will need to print a lot of parts or order them that are not included in the kit.
- Goto the Voron website and select your chosen printer, download the manual.
- Also download the STLs
- Read the manual intro and it will go through the options of the parts you need printed.
Does Phaser Sell the printed parts?
What does Functional / Non Functional Parts Mean?
This relates to printed parts for 2.4 & Trident. 0.,1 comes with all printed parts so its not applicable.
The functional parts give you all the parts required to do your first print, however some people have been underwhelmed after buying the functional parts and putting it together.
-Functional Parts will not give you an enclosed ready printer for printing ABS
-Functional Parts do not include any skirting or acrylic panel mounting.
The idea is that you could print these in PLA as they are external once you have your printer runing and then in other materials later once you have an enclosure.
You may decide that you would like to buy Functional & NON Functional parts before you start building your Kit if this does not sound ideal.
How long will it take to print all the parts if I do it myself?
Please note that your printer will need a full enclosure and you will need to be experienced in printing ABS. If you have never printed ABS or don't have an enclosure it's highly recommended to buy these parts.
It is noted that the amount of printing is significant, and if you do print them yourself it could take 2-4 weeks depending on your print speeds.
What brand kit should I buy?
Due do the chinese new year 2022 many printer kits will not be available until April/May 2022 - In this case, the best kit is probably the one that is in stock.
In general LDO is the most expensive, and is the most refined kit and very well packaged. Formbot is 2nd, and FYSETC is last.
As an example, LDO kits have all the wiring done but Fysetc kits have loose connectors and you have to make them up yourself.
Can I Customise my Voron Kit?
There is a website made by Christian Sass Hansen where you can customise your Voron with each colour and see how its going to look before you print all your parts.
