Phaser Summary
If you are printing abs and only doing max 250mm high parts, Trident is faster, the chamber heats faster and its a lot easier to build. If you fit that criteria and its your first Voron build, Trident is the one for you.
Voron 2.4 Pros
- The bed does not move, so you can see your print the whole way through your print. Good for timelapse as well.
- Build height in 2.4 is 350mm (less some height for bowden tube hitting the roof. - Trident is 250
- 2.4 doesn't use leadscrews so Z-hop is a lot faster
Voron 2.4 Cons
- As there is 4 motors moving the gantry is a lot heavier and so your input shaper results will be around 4-5k as opposed to Tridents 6-8k - Therefore print speeds and acceleration on 2.4 is 30% slower than Trident
- As the bed is at the bottom the heated chamber takes alot longer to heat up as hot air rises.
Voron Trident Pros
- 30% faster than 2.4 due to less weight as above.
- Print starts at the top, and the chamber area around the printer heats up faster.
- Trident allows u to store spare beds and tools under the bed when ur not using them :D
Voron Trident Cons
- Build height is 250mm (little bit less) as opposed to 2.4's 350mm height.
- If you have your printer mounted high, you may need stool/chair to get to the prints because print starts right at the top.
